Re: Any other hobbies other than motorcycles???

I too have a bad habit with muscle cars. namely Pontiac's... the two cars I recently had was a 70&1/2 firebird 350 and a 79 trans am. both took lots of time and blood and sweat the 70&1/2 was my true muscle car and the 79 T/A WS6 restored to orginal... big hood bird and all! they both filled the need to wrench ...unfortunaly I sold them both as a package deal. needed the money. I also am into music and still love to beat on my six strings. but my true passion is anything to do with motorcycles..I can sell the cars, gutiars, home, and the like.... but never my scoot! after all we are one.

I had a '69 Camaro for 14 years, sold it when I was raising a family and trying to buy a home.
Lot's of blood sweat and gears/beers went into that one lol.
I got it when I was just 22 years old in a trade deal for a 4X4 pickup truck that ran but needed a li'l TLC,the Camaro had a badly blown up 327 small block/4 speed so it was a non runner.
I put it back together with a very built up L89 427/4 speed and had a ball.
I wish I had it back, those cars are hard to come by on a budget these days.
Love my 4th gen Z28 but I'd trade it in a heartbeat for the '69 just the way I got it back then with the broken motor out of the car on the garage floor.

I still have a pipe dream of finding a deal on a '67-'69 Camaro basket case project car for a song but those deals are few and far between anymore.

Re: Any other hobbies other than motorcycles???

I was into the musclecar scene for almost 20 years. That's what partly got me into doing autobody repair for a living. Now a rusted junker co$t$ at least $5000, more if its a 'Cuda or something. It's funny how guys like me got into the biz because we had the coolest cars (that we put together from junk) , now they're investments and we can't afford them anymore. My last one I sold in '04. A '67 Mustang.

Other cars I had:

'71 Chevelle
'72 Chevelle
'70 Nova
'79 Ranchero GT
'77 Firebird
'73 Challenger

Re: Any other hobbies other than motorcycles???

I guess I asked the question, but never revealed what other hobbies that I have. During the summer I like dab a bit trying my hand at golf, not sure if I would call it a hobbie though, for it creates more frustration than I can describe.

However, I do like to compete in IPSC and now lately been trying my skills on IDPA. It's a great way to get the juices going, and meet a lot of people. And the reloading is almost as fun as the weekend shooting. Anyway, has been keeping me busy and the smell of gun powder is way good.

In addition to that, I spend the first six months of each year being involved with a local motorcycle run here in southern Oregon. This year our beneficiary is going to be the Oregon Shriners.

Re: Any other hobbies other than motorcycles???

I have to say that ridin the bike is on the top of the list of hobbies, but I also ride quads, wheel my jeep, snowboard, and of course see if I can beat my record of beers drank in one night. I always end up loosing track so I have to start all over the next day.
