Screwball I almost fell out of my chair laughing so hard ! Found out what's up they are saying any whip over 18 " is a slingshot ! B.S. but all the same just another excuse. You can beat the rap but not the time it takes oh well guess it comes off. Thanks for the help and laughs guys as always.

I checked quickly and found no specific statute that addresses your issue. I'm thinking that the Officer may have been using the Penal Code (some sort of weapon code), but I don't remember anything that he might have relied upon that concerns itself with "whips".

Ive talked to a few locals, the "slingshot" thing is penal code, but a vague interpritation. was passed down from the feds.
