How the hell is it going?

Hey all,
I have not been around all that much. how the hell is it going? hope all is well. I got my old job back in Portland...thankful to be working again.
It is strange this time around...they called all the dinosaurs back to work, I thought for sure we would all be replaced by 20 something greenies. ( no grunts or laborers ) the only thing that sucks that know it is at less pay and little company covered health benifits. not that I am complaining.....work is scares out there.

I have my concerns about where I work. WTF would we do if they said everybody was taking a pay cut? You know damn well the corporate fucks aren't taking a paycut.

The real question is "how much money is too much money" I think these company get too greedy. Why do you need a billion dollars? I live happily with the little money that I have. I don't need to drive around some fancy car or have a mansion...all I need is my bike, family, and friends...and maybe a new guitar or 2. ha!

Ye I hear ya, but you know what? I would take a billion dollrs in a heartbeat and I am pretty sure I would be quite happy.

I'd be happy too, but it's the people out there who spend money just to spend the money. Just because you have a billion dollars...doesn't mean you need to spend every last penny of it. So what's the point of having the billion?

It would be hard to spend a billion dollars.... even if you spent like a madman - I think what it does is give people a false sense of power when they have money.

Hey ya Rippen looks like things are going better for you now and thats great man!!! Work here in the midwest has been slow to, but kinda busten losse , got to sharpen your pencil real good to get the home improvement jobs.Over the last 37 some years that i have been driving nails have not realy seen things go like it has been,but WTF Iam not going to go for all the BS Iam going forward!!!!!!

I work in a machine shop. It's feast or famine in our industry, but lately it's been slower than I can remember. Our shop has been having rotating layoffs (3 weeks on 1 week off) since last fall. In an attempt to avoid laying off anyone permanent. It affects the families less that way. You don't lose all your good people that way. Were also on four tens but we work Mon thru Thurs one week and then Tues thru Fri the next. So every other weekend is a four day. And you get like 11 days off on your layoff week. I feel pretty lucky to work in a shop where they give a shit about their employees.
