Nicks . . . Now that's a blast from the past. I use to go in there with my father in law and have a few beers. Yep, good times. Father in law is cool and he use to do all the buying.

Can't take credit for the pics, you'll have to thank Y2K for those. I don't think you'd enjoy my back yard as well as his. I've apparently been in his, but mine is mostly a swimming pool and Koi pond with a refer full of beer on the patio!

Sounds like a good place to visit on a hot day to me.

I live in Martinez so I dont have to pay bridge toll to go to work every day
and I dont have to pay for parking for the motorhome storage

other than that I cant figure out why I am even back in this state
other than when we first moved here we did save money from what it cost us to live in TEXAS

Re: Membership living everywhere, what's the draw to where you live now?

I too got out of California in 1987 and moved to Oregon...it was the best move I ever did in my life.
I lived in San Mateo, Redwood City and all over the Bay Area...I also lived in Eureka on and off for many years.
After years of living there ( California ) and tired of putting up with all the madness, I decided to make a change. I left California with $1500 toads and headed to Oregon. like I said the best move I have ever made...met my beautiful wife here, and the like. we recently moved to the Oregon Coast...once again got tired of the Portland Metro Area...to much traffic cost of living and the like.
Oregon is Beautiful and has allot to offer. most of the people I have met here are genuine and are the real deal. the riding is great and tons to explore!....it's wonderful to be here.

Re: Membership living everywhere, what's the draw to where you live now?

My family picked up and moved from Anchorage, AK in '79. Been in the area since. We started in Island county. I got out of jail, I mean high school and ended up in Skagit county for about a dozen years. It was meant to be a stop on the way. Moved up to Bellingham 10 years ago. ...Dunno, just kinda stuck here now. I'd like a drier climate, tired of patching my trailer and watching mold grow on my inside walls. It is fantastically scenic for about a month and a half or so and there are plenty of good roads way up here.

My brother just sold his home of 35 years in Portland (Sellwood dist.) and retired in Garibaldi on the Oregon Coast.

That is just a stones throw from me....I really dig Garibaldi. if you are ever down this way to visit your brother or just riding the coast...send me a PM and see if we can hook up.

Re: Membership living everywhere, what's the draw to where you live now?

Born and raised in Fresno, Ca. would still be there if I did not find my current job. Moved to San Ramon six years ago for my current job as an Automotive Instructor at a college. Wife and I still miss Fresno, we go back once a month to visit family. I love the job, love the pay, love the weather, hate being 2.5 hours from family, hate the high rent, hate the Bezerkley mind set.... I guess you could say it is a trade off!
