Re: Redwood run 2009

I do believe RayWood is the vetran to ask as I think he does this rally quite often

I would like to attend as well but it seems like every time I plan in advance work gets in the way

Hey man I got your message I have not had a chance to respond till now. I am not really sure if I am going to be at the Redwood Run or not its too far off to plan for right now ... BUT ... I would like to try and hook up with you while you are out here. You are welcome to come on over to my house for some food and beer :) I would see if we could get a group together for that.

The redwood run web site is still has its 2007 face on so we will see what the dates are and how much tickets are for 2009.

Re: Redwood run 2009

Just givin ya a hard time John...really I thought I must have done the pm thing wrong! As for planning so far in advance...well it would never happen anyother way.I have seen the web page of course but it has no new info on it so you could say that I am just "fishin".Thanks for the offer, not sure if we will get farther south than Piercy, the girls will be taxed to their limits as it is! Looking to pick up a 96 Virago 750 in Wa. for My wifes first bike(find out if my offer is accepted next week). Living in Mt.(already starting to snow)she will be hard pressed to get enough saddle time in before June as it is.But hey who knows what tomorrow will bring!

Re: Redwood run 2009

Geeezzz, just did a long post and hit the "close page" button and lost everything!

I've been to this run since the 80's and it's my favorite run in the county.
It's private and limited to 5000 bikers. Bikes only, no trucks, cars or campers/RV's.
This year we ran down to Eureka for the night on Thursday then Friday morning ran down to get in line for the gate opening at 9am. It was open and heard they opened it at 8. Camping spots are on a first come basis as camp selection is at a premium depending on where you want to camp.
Food is good but I would haul in my own drinks. Town is about 10-15 miles away to a grocery store.
Wonderful riding around the area but couldn't do any this year as I couldn't get my wife out of the river!!
Good band usually but this year wasn't so good in my opinion.
Tickets are $70 buck pre-ordered and you stop at the front gate and get your wristband.
Best old school run on the westcoast.

Wolf, if you come through Washington we can meet up and escort you down or even meet you in Grants Pass which is the turn off of I-5.
Sorry we missed you at the Testicle Festival this year.

Hope to see ya,
Ray

There are several areas to camp in over on a hillside as in this pic.

Here is one of the campgrounds about mid way up the hill side

Looking up from the river, you can some other clearing up the hill

Some of the river fun

Re: Redwood run 2009

Ray, good to hear from ya!The plan as of now is that we will be in Portland area Wed. night. We had planned to ride to south of Coos Bay to maybe Gold Beach along the coast. Then go to Piercy Fri. from there arriving early afternoon.Sounds like the timing for arival is not so good huh?Would love to hook up w/ you guys so plans could be modifyed to make that work I am sure. One advantage of early planning is lots of flexibilty!I will say that my wife and I need to pick up her girlfriend S. of Portland as she wants to go w/ us,and we really want to ride to coast cause we have never been there. When should I plan on getting tickets? Look forward to hearing from ya...yeah and sorry about the missed connection at the Festicle, didnt have a computer at home till now so If I didnt go into the store I couldnt check the site. Doug
