New to wbc. from central california

What's up everyone? I'm new to westcoastbikers.com. I figure multiple minds are better than one. I'm a new harley owner. Just bought a 2009 crossbones. I'm loving it, but I'm looking to really make it mine with a few changes.

I'm lovin the bike. Really comfortable and easy to handle. I grew up riding crotch rockets and I felt it was time to move on to a real bike.
I'm currently trying to find out why the oil change intervals on my bike are every 2500 miles when every other model is 5000 miles. If anyone has any insight, that would be great. I've spoken with my local dealer and they've only been able to tell. "because thats what the manual says".

Also. My new pipes come in tomorrow

I was told that its a must to also change my air cleaner and dyno it. Is that true. If so, would changing out the back plate of the aircleaner for a screaming eagle be sufficient air flow.
My local HD shop hasn't been very helpful. So I'm asking everywhere I can.

Hi charlieb, place your question about the aircleaner under the Exhaust Shop, Engine Modification, or Softtail topic area. I'm sure several people here can give you the right answers. You'll find that this forum has a wealth of great knowledge about everything motorcycle in it. Sorry but I personally don't have the answer. Good luck.
