| Fox Creek Classic Jacket and Leather over pants Fox Creek Leather classic leather jacket and leather over-pants- review by West Coast Bikers. First off I would like to start by saying that I am not being paid to do this review. I am writing this because I think that this is some of the best quality and priced all American leather I have ever seen. I use it, love it and want to share that with my fellow motorcycle cruisers. Fox Creek Leathers are what you have been looking for but have not been able to find. Similar jackets go for over $600.00 at other leather retailers. The Fox Creek classic jacket is a heavy - 8 to 9 pounds - jacket. The leather is thick and very supple. 4 large pockets - and one small key pocket are very conveniently located. The interior of the jacket has a mesh lining which separates you from the leather, there is also a vest which zips into the jacket for those cold days. The front and back of the jackets has vents for when it gets hot. The sleeves have zippers at the end of them so you can have the sleeves tight around your wrists or loose. I used these extensively on my trip to Sturgis this summer. When they are open they let air into the sleeves for some cooling. All the zippers are super high quality and easy to use, even with gloves on. I’ve had my Fox Creek jacket now for 3 years. It’s broken in perfectly; I wear it every time I go out on my bike. I cannot bring myself to get another jacket, although the Fox Creek vented racing jacket is looking like the next jacket if I get one. To get the right size I used the size chart on the web site. I am pretty easy when it come to shopping for a size, so my size 44 fit me perfectly. Nonetheless if you need custom sizes or help getting the right size, Fox Creek will help you out. I treat my jacket once a year to a good oiling with Montana Pitch blend products; this makes the leather nice and waterproof. I tested that this summer in a few showers, and the leather did well. Keep in mind that these are not water proof zippers, so light rain gear is best when it starts to get wet. Along with my Fox Creek Classic Jacket I wear the Fox Creek leather pants to protect my legs. I used to wear chaps, but found that I really like the way the pants felt and look when compared to chaps. When I first got the pants I was surprised at how thick they were, the chaps I had been wearing felt paper thin compared to these. The leather again was beautiful, not quite as supple as the jacket, still I was very impressed with the quality. Fox Creek uses a process called naked leather tanning which means the leather These pants go on over your jeans. You have to make sure you get the right size, so use the size chart and ask questions if you are unsure. Down the length of the pats on each side is a heavy duty zipper, so you can easily zip the pants on and off. There are two pockets in the front which have zippers to secure them shut; they are big enough to keep your wallet and whatever else you usually keep in your jeans pocket. Two pockets in the back with snaps to secure them shut. Generally I do not keep anything in these, because you are sitting all day and that would become uncomfortable. Down by the boot the zipper ends and it goes down to snaps so you can get your boots on. The snaps hardware is a cool patina bronze, looks really nice. There are belt loops (cool double loop in the back) for a nice thick belt to keep the pants up when walking around. These pants make you feel protected; like you would have a chance to slide on the pavement for a bit before you chewed up your skin. As with my jacket I treat the leather on these to some water proofing with Montana Pitch blend; works on the leather, the zipper are not water proof so waterproof rain gear is advised. I think leather over pants look more stylish than chaps, especially on men. The combo of the jacket and pants makes you feel really protected against the elements and any potential hazards you may encounter while riding. The price point on these items is great, I really felt satisfied that I good a deal and a high quality product. I had looked at leather from other vendors and really found that Fox Creek was the best buy. If you are looking for leather gear for Motorcycle I would highly recommend Fox Creek Leather; buy American it makes you feel good!
