My Mood:
Kaoko Cruise Control

I like to ride long distance on my motorcycle, 400 miles 500 miles 600 miles, they all sound like great days to me. I am a cruiser and I ride a cruiser, a 2003 Harley Heritage softail. Now this bike is like riding a lazy boy down the freeway, the one thing its lacking is a good cruise control system.

If you go looking for after market cruise control systems you will see a few solutions, ranging from full on electronic bolts ons to little handles to make the stock 'friction' switch easier to use.

Being that I am lazy I just have relied on the little star shaped doodad on the handle bars, that was all fin till I changed controls to all chrome controls. These did not have a star shaped switch, they have a barrel knob made out of chrome - looks good but cannot use it unless you take both hands off the bars - not good. I found out about all this while I was hauling down to Laughlin for the river run, so I had no cruise control for that 657 mile run. OUCH!!! My right hand was numb by the time I got to my hotel. I was motivated to search the vendor section the next day to see if I could find a solution.

As I walked around looking at the same ole stuff I stumbled apon the Kaoko Cruise Control booth run by Kurt owner of black dog cycle works out of sandpoint idaho. I had never seen this product before so I stopped to talk and see how it worked.

I ended up buy one for my bike, which kurt installed for me while I waited, guy chopped his hands open with a box cutter while doing it! I hope your ok!

The reason why I bought it is easy - its an elegant cruise control device, which has a secondary function of reducing handle bar vibrations. You can use the device with out taking your hand off the handle bar. You roll on and roll off pressure to the device with one motion. Install was easy. I had to try it and my ride back would be a perfect test.

I choose the chrome angular model I think it looks cool on my bike. These thing will work with almost all hand grips, you do have to be able to take off the end caps of your handle bar grips to install this. The device installs just like a concrete bolt, you stick the Kaoko Cruise Control into your handle bar end with a bit of locktight and tighten up the main bolt, which pulls on the outer flange and makes it expand inside your handle bar. Thats it - pretty easy install.

On your right hand there is an outer ring which is used to apply pressure to your grip holding it in place. You adjust the outer ring to apply pressure - i.e. engage the cruise control as you roll on the throttle. This makes it so when on the highway you can throttle up to your speed and have your cruise engaged.

worked awesome on my bike and made the 657 miles back home a snap.

If you are looking for a cruise system you should look at this and see if you like the way it looks.

Kaoko Cruise Control an affordable easy to install cruise control solution - check it out!

You can get more information and order the product at the compnay web site:
