Layoffs are going nuts around here!

I don't know about where you all live, but here in the Rogue Valley, it's getting real tough to hold onto your job. Seems like everyday, I hear of more layoffs. Employee's are dropping like flies a the County where I work with no relief in sight! I hear from various sources that it's going to be even worst in 2009. Also, when they lay others off, those that are still on the job have to pick up the extra work with a smile. I'm putting in more hours now than ever. Not bitching, but geeze, no one likes being used.

I'm gaining some confidence in Lord Obama and knowing that he has a tough road ahead to get this country going again. So far, and those that know me, I hate to admit it, but Lord Obama seems to be rolling forward at full steam. I may eat some chit in the future, but at this time, I'll be happy to even swallow it!

Re: Layoffs are going nuts around here!

The headline on yesterday's paper read half a million jobs vanished in November... I'm one of them. Yes, I believe '09 is gonna be the year of most of the fallout from the recession, maybe even a depression. Who knows? Dontcha jes' love it when rich people screw around with things?

I might be able to get in on a displaced worker's program. I hope so. I don't have any money for school.

Huh-huh... you said bone-us... huh.

Most of the places I check for work, they start shaking their heads even before I finish the first sentence when I ask them... this is bad.

Heard of more layoffs in the valley yesterday. Also, one of the business's that's been in Medford for over 60 years is closing it's doors as of the end of the year. ! They have a Motorsports store (includes a Yamaha dealership) and apparently from news today that it will be kept running. Also, I've noticed bigtime that the Malls around here there are actually lots of parking to do shopping. That visibly bothers me more!

I was born and raised in Medford. I moved south when the greenies shut down Burrill Lumber Co. I live near Chico now and vist Medford often. Its one of the most beautiful areas to starve to death in I know

We should all march to DC and give all those pricks in Congress a golden shower!! Cracks me up those arrogant bastards telling companies how they should run a business, they need to look in the mirror and quit spending OUR money....

Yeah, I'm sure we can give them a lesson on how to make it OK on not much... hire a poor person to write yearly budgets, there would be some changes for sure.
